Creativity Beyond Bounds

About Mayfly Creative Productions

Mayfly Creative Productions is a queer- and femme-led performance company transforming the performing arts landscape by uplifting, amplifying, and sustaining marginalized voices. Founded in 2019 and officially launched in 2023, we provide recurring, accessible, community-rooted platforms for emerging and established artists across burlesque, dance, drag, theatre, and hybrid performance forms. Our work lives at the intersections of movement, text, music, song, multimedia, vaudeville, improv, and striptease, creating performances that are immersive, interactive, and boundary-breaking.

Our Values

Starlotte Satine At My House In The Junction

Community Comes First

Everything we do is guided by our core values: queer leadership, equity and representation, artistic innovation, accessibility, community and collaboration, and sustainability and recurrence. Through every production, program, and partnership, we work toward a performing arts world where marginalized artists are celebrated, audiences are engaged and inspired, and queer and marginalized performance is visible, valued, and joyfully celebrated.

Our Audiences

Mayfly shows are designed for audiences who crave smart, sensual, and surprising live performance that feels like home - especially for queer and marginalized communities.

Whether you’re stepping into a traditional theatre, a neighborhood bar, or an unconventional venue transformed into a stage, you’re entering a space where art, community, and identity meet.

You Can Expect:

  • Lineups packed with queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled performers whose stories and artistry rarely get the spotlight in conventional arts spaces.

  • Hybrid, genre-bending work that blends comedy, striptease, live music, storytelling, movement, and multimedia.

  • Thoughtfully produced, welcoming environments that prioritize accessibility, consent culture, and a sense of genuine belonging.

Every Mayfly production is both daring and deliberate: we push creative boundaries while making sure you feel invited in, cared for, and part of the experience.

Mayfly exists to create sustainable, recurring opportunities for artists who are too often treated as token additions rather than core voices. We prioritize queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled performers and treat representation as essential to the work—not an afterthought.

When you work with us, you can expect:

  • Inclusive and intentional casting processes that centre marginalized artists from the start.

  • Collaborative creative development that respects your boundaries, honours your lived experience, and welcomes experimentation across forms.

  • Ongoing, community-rooted programming that builds long-term relationships instead of one-off gigs, including mentorship and professional development opportunities.

We are committed to building a sustainable ecosystem where artists can thrive on and off the stage, supported by community, care, and equitable practices.

Venues, Organizations,
& Corporate Clients

Mayfly partners with theatres, bars, festivals, community organizations, and corporate clients to design and deliver unforgettable live performance experiences rooted in equity, accessibility, and artistic innovation. Whether you are looking to program a full-length show, curate a themed lineup, or bring a queer, community-centered lens to your existing events, we collaborate to build something that fits your space, audience, and goals.

Our team offers:

  • Turnkey burlesque, drag, and hybrid variety shows that transform your venue into an immersive, memorable experience for your guests.

  • Consulting on inclusive, equity-driven programming and audience engagement strategies that reflect and serve queer and marginalized communities.

  • Thoughtful production management - from creative direction and casting to tech, run-of-show, and on-the-day coordination - grounded in accessible, trauma-informed practices.

We envision partnerships where community, creativity, and care are at the centre, creating events that are not only entertaining but aligned with your values and the communities you serve.
